Starting salary: \u00a313.47 per hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reporting to: <\/strong>Deputy Service Manager (children and young people)<strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Play and Leisure Opportunity Library is looking for a committed, hardworking Specialist Playworker to join our team. The role will involve the facilitation of our Home Education and After School groups on a Thursday, in our base at Forge Fach Community Centre, Clydach<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your responsibilities will include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To assist in the delivery of our specialist sessions using play and relevant therapeutic approaches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To understand the importance of play and embed positive practices throughout service delivery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To assist in the delivery of high quality, targeted play and socialisation opportunities for individuals and families<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment focused on service user enjoyment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To ensure safe working practices are adhered to and enforced within all aspects of PLOL services, this is to include holding a satisfactory DBS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work efficiently and in line with the Library\u2019s ethos and approach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a flexible approach to service delivery to ensure that provision continually adapts and responds to the emerging and evolving needs of our community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You must have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Relevant experience, training and\/or qualifications with an understanding of the importance of play and learning through play<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience working with children and young people with disabilities is essential<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good organisational skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First aid qualification desirable but not essential<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of good Safeguarding practices essential<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must have a commitment to ongoing training and professional development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Play and Leisure Opportunity Library is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
